Nurturing the Social Approach Engagement System of the Brain: Jessica Sinarski

accutrain education school professional development training resources conferences

“Relationships can be a source of healing. Brains are highly impacted by others, especially during childhood.”  According to Keynoter Jessica Sinarski, educators can help students exercise “upstairs brain power” to enjoy engaging, cooperating and collaborating with others.

Watch Jessica Sinarski explain an important element of the executive function — or “upstairs” part of the brain that governs the defense mode.

Jessica Sinarksi is an author and thought leader in neuroscience who specializes in training educators about the brain and how to teach students of all ages how the brain works, and why it matters. She will present a pre-conference session entitled Light Up the Learning Brain: Tools for Overcoming Learning Obstacles at the Wired Differently/Trauma-Informed Schools Conference in Las Vegas in July.
