
Students exposed to chronic stress often revert to survival behaviors — even in the safe environment of a school. According to presenter Jessica Sinarski, educators can nurture “felt safety” so that students experience more calm and fewer behavior challenges.
Jessica Sinarksi is an author and thought leader in neuro-science who specializes in training educators about the brain and how to teach students of all ages how the brain works, and why it matters. She will present a pre-conference session entitled Light Up the Learning Brain: Tools for Overcoming Learning Obstacles at the Wired Differently/Trauma-Informed Schools Conference in Las Vegas in July.
