Students exposed to chronic stress often revert to survival behaviors — even in the safe environment of a school. According to presenter Jessica Sinarski, educators can nurture “felt safety” so that students experience more calm and fewer behavior challenges.

Watch Jessica Sinarksi explain how crucial “felt safety” messages are in the classroom.

Jessica Sinarksi is an author and thought leader in neuro-science who specializes in training educators about the brain and how to teach students of all ages how the brain works, and why it matters. She will present a pre-conference session entitled Light Up the Learning Brain: Tools for Overcoming Learning Obstacles at the Wired Differently/Trauma-Informed Schools Conference in Las Vegas in July.
