How Online Learning Expands Exposure to Career Pathways

“The more career pathways that students can explore in high school, the greater the likelihood they’ll find an option that appeals to them,” writes Carol DeFuria of VHS Learning in eSchool News.

Online learning can expose students to an array of career options that schools can’t provide by themselves. Partnering with a supplemental online learning provider offers schools a wide range of courses to give high school students hands-on experience in many career fields, DeFuria writes.

Students who enroll in VHS Learning courses through their local high school have access to more than 250 courses across a range of industries and professions, including computer science, architecture, biotechnology, fashion design, forensic science, meteorology, and more.

Courses are taught by certified high school teachers, and students engage with peers world-wide, learning subjects not always available locally. Courses provide practical, hands-on experience in career fields by completing real-world tasks and projects.

High-quality, hands-on online instruction enables high schools to give more career options so students can find matches that engage and inspire them.
