Healing from trauma can be aided by utilizing states of activation as an opportunity to clean out the wound once and for all — according to speaker Kim Johancen.

Watch Kim Johancen explain what educators can look for when psychological “hot spots” are triggered in a student’s brain.

Kim Johancen, MA, LPC will present 2 pre-conference sessions at the Wired Differently Conference in New York in March. She will also present a session during the main event. Kim is a counselor who has worked for a number of years with students who self-injure, as well as those who have experienced trauma. She is co-author of the newly released book, Traumatized Students: School-Based Interventions for Reaching Below the Surface.
